What to Expect When You Visit
Dr. Gary Martin, Irvine Chiropractor
To make your first visit as informative and helpful as possible, we have information on what to expect when beginning treatment with us, including payment options and insurance information. When you come to our office, our receptionist will welcome you like a member of our family. We will request that you complete our new patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. With all of Dr. Martin’s treatments, you can expect to receive high-quality care, personalized attention, and best of all prompt care. We do not like to keep our patients waiting, so we always schedule patients to see Dr. Martin as close to your arrival time as possible.
Consultation
Dr. Martin will meet with you to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Martin to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Martin will perform a complete chiropractic examination, evaluating your posture and flexibility, and identifying any spinal subluxations (misaligned vertebrae). Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests may be performed as well.
X-Ray Studies
Depending on your specific condition, we may take digital X-rays to help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In many cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Martin will give you a detailed report of all findings on your next visit and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Martin will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Martin will provide the best treatment program for your needs.
Treatment
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, and depending upon the results of the consultation and examination, you may receive your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue massage. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.
